Traditional Exterior Doors
Traditional Doors are craftsman-made to exceptional standards from top grade selected hardwoods.
The range includes a variety of attractive designs, both period and modern, providing something to enhance every home. You may download our Door Flyer in Adobe Acrobat Reader Format by right clicking this link door_flyer.pdf (2.99mb) and choosing "Save Target As"

Features such as the leaded lights, glass bullions, antique iron studs, hinges and grills, are integral parts of the designs and are included in the prices.
Door furniture (such as lever handles, letter plates, knockers, etc) are extra.

Traditional Doors can usually be supplied in a choice of three timbers English Oak, Brazilian Mahogany and Iroko. There are, however, fluctuations in the supply of suitable grades of these timbers, particularly English Oak, so variations in the choice offered may occur from time to time.

Treatment and Maintenance
Doors are supplied with a sanded finish, so the choice of final treatment is left to the customer. It is important that the timber is treated as soon as possible in order to seal and protect it from the elements.

Direct sunshine will soon discolour untreated wood and our cold moist winter conditions can also affect a door, particularly if the atmosphere is warm and dry on the inside this can easily lead to warping if the wood has not yet been sealed.

Besides conventional varnishes, there are several types of micro porous coatings available which have the advantage of low maintenance requirements and protect the timber from discolouration by ultra violet light. These come in a choice of colours to suit various timbers.
